TrustLayer is free up to 50 vendors, then 10 dollars per additional vendor per month on Starter, and quote-only on its Pro and Complete plans. The 10 dollar figure is the only price TrustLayer publishes, and it sits on its Starter page rather than its plans page: "If you exceed that limit, a charge of $10 per additional vendor per month will apply." The plans page names Pro and Complete with no dollar figure, the old pricing URL (trustlayer.io/pricing) returns a 404, and its FAQ answers "How much does TrustLayer cost?" with "Pricing varies depending on platform usage. We offer plans that fit budgets and organizations of all sizes. Please schedule a demo to learn more."

Every fact below was checked against trustlayer.io and the main software directories in September 2026. Where TrustLayer publishes nothing, this page says so rather than guessing.

TrustLayer plans and what each one includes

The plans page is more detailed than most in this category. It just stops short of numbers.

PlanPublished priceVendorsWhat it adds
StarterFree to 50 vendors, then 10 dollars per additional vendor per monthUp to 50 freeExpirations and renewals, messaging and collaboration, basic reporting, custom data, AI document collection and classification
ProNot publishedListed as 0 to 1,500+Everything in Starter, plus BI reporting, Procore, CMiC and Vista Viewpoint integrations, white glove onboarding, AI smart requirements, W9 document extraction, optional TrustLayer Plus
CompleteNot publishedListed as 0 to 1,500+Everything in Pro, plus unlimited users, real-time support, custom integrations, up to 7 custom BI reports, a dedicated account manager, optional TrustLayer Plus

Two details in that table tell you how the quote works. First, both paid plans show the same vendor range, 0 to 1,500+, which means the plan choice is about features and the price inside each plan moves with your vendor count. That matches the FAQ's "varies depending on platform usage". Second, the most expensive capability is not a plan at all. Human review sits in an add-on.

What TrustLayer Plus costs

TrustLayer Plus is the managed service layer: a team of licensed insurance professionals who handle document collection, review and follow-up for you, working to a review process designed around your risk appetite. It is listed as optional on both Pro and Complete. TrustLayer publishes no price for it, and the Plus page routes to a demo request.

This is the line item that most changes a TrustLayer quote. Software that reads the ACORD 25 and tracks expirations is one cost. People who read the endorsement pages and decide whether the additional insured wording actually meets your contract is a different, larger cost across every vendor in the category. We compared which platforms still staff licensed reviewers, and what they charge where it is published, in COI tracking software with human review. If a TrustLayer quote seems high or low, the first question is whether Plus is in it.

What the 51st vendor costs on TrustLayer

The free tier is genuinely useful, and it is one of the few in the category. The overage is where the math turns. At 10 dollars per additional vendor per month, each vendor past 50 costs 120 dollars a year. Here is what Starter would cost if you simply kept adding vendors to it.

Vendors trackedBillable vendorsStarter cost per monthStarter cost per year
5000 dollars0 dollars
7525250 dollars3,000 dollars
10050500 dollars6,000 dollars
2001501,500 dollars18,000 dollars
5004504,500 dollars54,000 dollars

Those figures are arithmetic on TrustLayer's published overage, not quotes. For scale, Evident's published entry rate is 15 dollars per vendor per year, so one TrustLayer overage vendor costs as much per year as eight Evident vendors. Nobody running 200 vendors should stay on Starter at that rate, and that is almost certainly the design: the overage exists to move a growing program onto a Pro quote, where the price is negotiated rather than listed.

That is not a trick, and plenty of teams will be happy to make the jump. It does mean you should decide before loading vendor 51 whether TrustLayer is where you want the program to live, because moving 50 vendors, their requirements and their certificate history later is more work than choosing now. Ask for the Pro quote early, and test the paid features you will rely on (integrations, BI reporting, AI smart requirements) before your list outgrows the free tier.

What third parties say TrustLayer costs

Here is every source that says anything about TrustLayer cost, labeled for what it is.

SourceWhat it saysWhat it is
TrustLayer FAQPricing varies with platform usage; schedule a demoVendor statement
trustlayer.io/plansStarter free up to 50 vendors; Pro and Complete with no figureVendor statement
TrustLayer Starter page"$10 per additional vendor per month" above 50 vendorsVendor statement, the only published TrustLayer price
Capterra"Contact vendor for pricing"; free version availableDirectory listing
SelectHub"TrustLayer pricing starts in the range of $1,000 or more", billed annually, quote basedDirectory estimate, not a vendor price
TrustLayer broker programA TrustLayer rep runs "the pricing calculator" with a broker's clientConfirms an internal calculator exists

The SelectHub figure is the dollar amount most search results repeat, and it is an estimate from a directory, not a number TrustLayer publishes. None of the directories we checked mentions the 10 dollar Starter overage. Treat it as a floor to test in the demo, not a budget line.

How TrustLayer pricing compares with other COI platforms

Most COI tracking vendors hide price. The ones that publish something make TrustLayer's model easier to place.

TrustLayerStarter, free up to 50 vendorsStarter overage 10 dollars per extra vendor per month; Pro and Complete quotedTrustLayer Plus add-on, unpriced

COISoftwareOne-time 10-document demo, no cardStarter 49 dollars a month (24 billed yearly), Plus 149 (74 billed yearly)None, and we say so

For a program under 50 vendors that only needs expiration tracking, TrustLayer Starter is hard to beat on price, because it is free. Just past 50 it is still reasonable. At a few hundred vendors the overage is the most expensive published rate in the category, so the real price is whatever Pro is quoted at. For a program of a few hundred vendors that needs a number today, the vendors with published rates let you budget before a call. The full list of every rate, minimum and setup fee we could verify is on the COI tracking software pricing page.

Is TrustLayer worth the cost?

TrustLayer is worth it when you want strong vendor collection automation, you run construction work through Procore, CMiC or Vista, and you are willing to take a demo to get a price. Reviewers consistently praise how quickly the platform can be learned and how much chasing the automated follow-up removes. The review base is small, though: 15 reviews on G2 and 2 on Capterra, which we unpack on the TrustLayer reviews page.

It is less of a fit when your budget holder needs a published number before approving a call, or when you only need expiration tracking for a vendor list somewhere between 50 and a few hundred. That is the size where a self-serve plan at a fixed monthly price usually costs less than a quote-based annual contract, and where most teams would rather test on their own certificates this afternoon than book a demo next week.

Questions to ask on a TrustLayer pricing call

Go in with these, and ask every other vendor on your shortlist the same ones.

  1. If we stay on Starter above 50 vendors at 10 dollars per vendor per month, at what count does Pro become cheaper?
  2. What vendor count is this quote based on, and what happens to the price if that count rises 20 percent mid-term?
  3. Is TrustLayer Plus included, and if so, does its review cover endorsement pages or only the certificate?
  4. Is premium onboarding a separate fee, and what does it include?
  5. Are the Procore, CMiC or Vista integrations included in Pro, or priced as add-ons?
  6. Is the contract annual, and what is the notice period for non-renewal?
  7. If we buy through our broker, is the price the same as buying direct?

The insurance requirements you are pricing against usually sit inside your vendor agreements, so it helps to have them in one place before the call. If they are scattered across email and shared drives, contract management software that pulls the insurance clauses out of each agreement makes the requirements easier to hand over to any COI vendor you choose.

When a published price is the better starting point

If you have already outgrown 50 vendors, or you want to see a price before anyone calls you, start with a tool that shows it. COISoftware reads the certificate and its endorsement pages with AI, checks each one against your requirements and tracks every expiration, from 49 dollars a month with no annual minimum and no setup fee. You can upload one of your own certificates in the demo at the top of this page and see what it extracts before creating a paid account. For a side-by-side of the two approaches, see our TrustLayer alternative comparison, and for how TrustLayer's free tier stacks up against the only public per-vendor rate card, TrustLayer vs Evident.

Stop tracking COIs by hand

COISoftware reads every certificate of insurance, checks coverage and endorsements against your requirements, and flags expirations automatically. Test it on your own certificate, no account needed.
