Ebix sells certificate of insurance tracking under several names at once: CertificatesNow, CertsOnline, TrackCertsNow, a Procore listing called EBIX COI Tracking, and since May 2026 a rebuilt platform simply called Ebix COI. None of them publishes a price. If you are trying to work out which Ebix product you are actually being quoted, or you want COI tracking you can price and start today, here is the honest comparison.

Ebix publishes no pricing for any of its certificate products, so no figure appears in the Ebix column and we have not estimated one. Product capabilities in the Ebix column are taken from the company's own May 4, 2026 announcement of Ebix COI. We hold our own numbers to the same standard: our prices are on the pricing page and can be checked in a minute.
Ebix is a large, long-established insurance technology company and its COI products have been in the market for years. The people searching for an alternative are usually reacting to how the product line is packaged and sold rather than to a specific software failure.
CertificatesNow, CertsOnline, TrackCertsNow and the new Ebix COI all sit under the same corporate umbrella, and Ebix runs at least two web properties (ebix.com and ebixrcs.com) that describe overlapping certificate offerings. Working out which one your quote covers, and whether it is the issuance product for agents or the tracking product for certificate holders, takes a call.
Not one Ebix certificate product lists a price. That is common in this category, but it means you cannot sanity-check a budget before you commit time to a sales cycle. For context, only a handful of COI platforms publish any figure at all.
Ebix Inc. filed for Chapter 11 on December 17, 2023 and exited on August 30, 2024 under new ownership. That is a fair thing for a procurement team to ask about when it is picking a system of record for compliance evidence. The honest answer is below, and it is more reassuring than the headline suggests.
Ebix serves big insurance and risk operations well. A facilities team with 200 vendor certificates often finds the evaluation, configuration and onboarding effort sized for a much larger buyer than they are.
None of that makes Ebix a poor product. It makes it a particular shape: an enterprise insurance technology suite sold through a sales process, with several certificate products of different vintages under one roof. The alternative is software you can price on a page, test on your own certificates, and run the same afternoon. If you are comparing more broadly, the best COI tracking software roundup puts the leading platforms side by side.
One product with one name, a price on the website, and a free way to test the certificate reading before you speak to anyone.
Upload or forward a COI and the AI pulls the insurer, policy numbers, coverage types, limits, dates and additional insured status, including from crooked scans and phone photos, with no template setup per carrier.
Starter and Plus plans are listed with their prices and there is a free trial. You are not choosing between four certificate products with no figures attached to any of them.
Set your required limits and endorsements, upload certificates and go. There is no implementation project between signing the paperwork and reading your first certificate.
The ADDL INSD and SUBR WVD columns on an ACORD 25 are not proof of anything on their own. Your required endorsements are checked on every certificate and anything missing or short is flagged on arrival.
Export a current compliance report to Excel or PDF whenever a client, insurer, lender or auditor asks for proof of who was covered and when.
Upload one of your own real certificates on the free trial and judge the extraction yourself. That settles more than a guided demo of any platform, ours included.
If Ebix is one of several platforms on your shortlist, we keep individual comparisons on the myCOI alternative, TrustLayer alternative, SmartCompliance alternative and CertFocus alternative questions. SmartCompliance is the closest match to Ebix in shape: an established insurance-industry platform, priced by component, quote only.
Four steps that settle this with evidence rather than demos.
Ask in writing whether the quote covers Ebix COI, CertificatesNow, CertsOnline or TrackCertsNow, and whether it is the issuance product used by agents and brokers or the tracking product used by companies receiving certificates from vendors. Those are different jobs.
Tip: Get the product name and the release it runs on in the proposal itself, not just in the demo.
Not a clean sample from a deck. Find the crooked scan or the phone photo a subcontractor emailed you last month and upload it. Extraction quality on real, messy documents is where platforms actually differ.
Ours is on the pricing page. For Ebix you will need a quote, and you should ask specifically what is included, whether there is an annual minimum, whether implementation is billed separately, and how the price moves as your certificate count grows.
Ebix relaunched its COI platform in May 2026, which is genuine investment. Ask which product you are buying, how long the older ones will be supported, and which legal entity signs the contract. A vendor that answers those clearly is a safer bet than one that deflects.
A comparison that only lists a competitor's weaknesses is a sales page wearing a disguise. Here is where Ebix genuinely wins, and it wins on something real.
This is the strongest thing in the Ebix COI launch and we will not pretend otherwise. Ebix describes a Contract Intelligence Lens that "reads vendor agreements, extracts requirements, and validates certificates against actual terms." Most COI platforms, ours included, ask you to configure required limits and endorsements as rules. Reading them straight out of the signed agreement is a genuinely different approach, and if you have thousands of contracts with requirements that vary line by line, that is a real advantage worth paying for.
Ebix sells across insurance exchanges, brokerage systems, underwriting and risk compliance. If your organization already runs Ebix systems and your data, contracts and support relationship live there, adding the certificate module to an existing relationship is often less work than introducing a new vendor, whatever the feature comparison says.
Part of the Ebix certificate line is built for the issuing side: agents and brokers producing certificates for their insureds. We do not do that at all. We are built for the certificate holder, the company receiving COIs from vendors and subcontractors and checking them. If you need issuance, Ebix covers a job we do not.
One product with one name, a price you can read before a sales call, a free trial to test extraction on your own certificates, and a start measured in minutes. If you want to know the cost this morning and be tracking certificates this afternoon, that is the trade we offer. The COI tracking services page covers the software-versus-managed-service choice underneath all of this.
EbixCert is how buyers commonly refer to Ebix's certificate of insurance products, though Ebix itself markets them under several names: CertificatesNow, CertsOnline, TrackCertsNow, and since May 2026 a rebuilt platform called Ebix COI. Some are aimed at agents issuing certificates and others at companies tracking certificates received from vendors, so the first question to settle in any quote is which product and which side of that split it covers.
Ebix does not publish pricing for any of its certificate products. The figure comes through a sales conversation and depends on which product, how many certificates and what implementation you need. For reference, the wider US market runs roughly 3 to 10 dollars per vendor per year for self-service and 10 to 30 dollars for full-service, and only a small minority of COI platforms publish any number at all.
Yes. Ebix Inc. filed for Chapter 11 on December 17, 2023 and exited on August 30, 2024. A consortium led by Eraaya Lifespaces, with Vikas Lifecare and Vitasta Software India, acquired the company at an ascribed enterprise value of about 361 million dollars, existing equity was canceled, and results now consolidate into Eraaya, which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Ebix Risk launched a new COI platform on May 4, 2026, so the certificate business is being actively invested in rather than wound down.
Both are Ebix certificate products of different vintages, and Ebix does not publish a clean side-by-side of its own line. Broadly, the certificate line splits between issuance tools used by agents and brokers to produce certificates and tracking tools used by companies that receive certificates from vendors. Ask Ebix directly which product your quote covers, which side of that split it sits on, and how long the older products will be supported now that Ebix COI has shipped.
It depends on which part you are replacing. If you need certificate issuance for an agency, we are not the answer and you should stay with a product built for that. If you are the certificate holder tracking vendor and subcontractor COIs and you want published pricing, a free trial and a same-day start, COISoftware is the alternative. If you want a comparable enterprise platform from a different vendor, SmartCompliance is the closest match in shape.
Ebix states that Ebix COI includes a Policy Intelligence Lens that "surfaces deeper policy and endorsement insights" and a Contract Intelligence Lens that validates certificates against terms extracted from vendor agreements. That is a stronger claim than checkbox review, and it matters, because the ADDL INSD and SUBR WVD columns on an ACORD 25 do not prove that any endorsement was actually issued. We check required endorsements on every certificate as well, against rules you configure rather than against a parsed contract.
